Schneider Downs is once again proud to support the Association of Certified 欺诈 Examiners (ACFE) as it celebrates 国际反欺诈意识周.

We have a long and established role in the fraud investigation and awareness field, through the numerous investigations we’ve performed over the years and our sponsorship of the annual 欺诈 and Corruption Awareness Seminar.

Our 咨询 group includes several Certified 欺诈 Examiners (CFE), and I serve as the president of the Greater 匹兹堡 chapter of the ACFE.

我们今年的主题是诈骗三角, the graphical representation of a theory developed by Donald Cressey in the 1950s. Cressey was a criminologist and is widely regarded as a pioneer in the study of white-collar crime, along with his teacher and co-author Edwin Sutherland. The 欺诈 Triangle includes three elements found in most instances of fraud:

• Real or perceived financial pressure that the perpetrator is experiencing
• Rationalization that their violation of trust is acceptable or justified

The week-long campaign encourages business leaders and employees to proactively take steps to minimize the impact of fraud by promoting anti-fraud awareness and education.
